Overall we had a great stay! Michael was always responsive to our msgs, responded really quickly, very attentive.
The cottage exterior is very spacious and surrounded by a beautiful forest. We even had some deer coming to visit us a few times!
The cottage has been renovated and was comfortable. We particularly enjoyed the indoor fireplace in a cooler rainy night.
We very much enjoyed our stay at this large and well furnished house. Very private and surrounded by wilderness!

There were eight of us and it accommodated us well. The property is private with large clearings to play games, which the kids loved. The fire pit was lovely too. There’s access to the water across the road if you’ve got water shoes but we preferred the boat launch as it was more beach like and Mike and Meng were really responsive whenever we had questions. We enjoyed our stay here.

Cottage was beside the sim er lake and a 10 minute bike ride from the beautiful Huron shore.

We had an amazing stay here. The location was absolutely perfect, very peaceful and beautiful, which made it the ideal place to relax. The house itself was stunning and very well kept. We truly had the best time.
The hot tub was a highlight and made the stay even more enjoyable. There was a small issue during our visit, but Mike responded right away, provided clear instructions, and made sure everything was resolved quickly. He was very attentive throughout our stay and always checked in to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying everything.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we would definitely recommend staying here.

All I can say is WOW! I had a job and needed to find 2 employees a place to stay last minute. Mike was so kind. He got the cleaner in to clean so they could stay! They were so communicative and understanding. They noticed their oil was getting low so notified us but had a back up plan! Can’t say enough good things about Micheal! Thanks again for everything!

Our family had a great time at the Hidden Cottage, a quiet and peaceful retreat on such a beautiful island. Mike and Meng were very helpful and responsive to any questions we had, which was especially useful as it's great to come prepared with groceries and firewood at this hidden gem. It was just the thing our family was looking for to wind down and enjoy meals in the evening together and exploring the island in the day. During our trip we loved the firepit, the hottub, driving around the island to visit beaches, swimming holes, and the lovely towns of Gore Bay, Mindemoya, Meldrum, Kagawong, and Little Current. The cottage is beautifully decorated and clean. Easy to relax in. We look forward to staying there again when we're next able to escape to beautiful Manitoulin. Thanks Mike and Meng!

We had an incredible time at this Airbnb. If you’re looking for a relaxing, remote experience, look no further. We enjoyed the hot tub, the comfortable beds and soft linens, beautiful forest for walks, and the fire pit for evening fires. I imagine during the warmer months it’s really nice to enjoy the lake as well which is right across the road. We had a really nice time and would definitely return. Thank you Mike and Meng!

It was the perfect space for a quiet getaway! The hosts provided clear and helpful instructions to locate the house and were very responsive leading up (and during) to our stay. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious, and the kitchen came equipped with everything we needed. I would recommend this location to anyone wanting a quiet retreat on the West End of Manitoulin.

We stayed at Mike and Meng's place over the Christmas holidays. The cottage was as described and had everything we needed. Coming "home" to a warm cottage after a long drive from Toronto was such a nice surprise. It is the ideal place to get away and take in the beauty of Manitoulin Island. The lake is only a short stroll down the driveway and is particularly beautiful all frozen over in winter. Mike and Meng were very helpful and responded to our questions promptly. Overall, we had a great time and would love to visit again in future.
Absolutely wonderful! We came up for a family vacation with 4 kiddos. The space was beautiful, the location was breath taking and the hosts were kind, flexible with check in and accommodating.

We had a very good time at Mike and Meng's place. It was very quiet and isolated and private. We ran into a couple small issues while there to which they responded quickly. We even had a great view of the Aurora Borealis our first night there, which was something on my wife's bucket list.
Me and my wife had an amazing stay at Mike & Meng’s! They were really quick and helpful when we had questions for them. The cottage was clean and the location is perfect for a relaxing getaway! Looking forward to visiting again!

Mike & Meng’s home was very adorable! It was a simple yet elegantly decorated home in the middle of a wooded property that felt very cozy and relaxing. There were little extras like coffee and tea and soaps that made it easy to pack light and enjoy. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook, including a spice rack and oils. The home was very clean.
The stars here are amazing! If you are looking for a remote relaxing getaway, this is definitely the place! Bring a book, enjoy the hot tub, the stars and fresh air!!

We enjoyed our stay here. The lake is beautiful! There were a couple of set-backs but we were able to manage these with Mike and Meng’s fairly quick response time.

It was nice and private. We had a family of 8. It was spacious and comfortable. Their home is equipped with everything you need from kitchen to bathroom. The linen and bedding was exceptional. They responded promptly to questions.
Cottage was clean & comfortable but if you are looking for a lake view it disappoints. Owners did respond quickly to any concerns.
Very much enjoyed our stay! We are three couples who visit beautiful Manitoulin Island each summer and Mike & Meng’s beautiful home was a new area of the island for us to stay at this year. It’s was so peaceful and serene. The hot tub was a great option after a day of excursions for us however we cannot be grateful enough for the air conditioning after the heat of the day! Thanks for sharing your home, it was so nice to enjoy one another’s company rather than staying in motel rooms!
Mike and Meng's place was very well decorated and modern. Great quite location. loved the nice private firepit used it every noght we were there. lots of nice muskoka chairs. they had a complete set of spices for cooking and lots of dishes. The 5 of us had a great weekend family reunion.
Loved being out on the island and visiting with locals!! Such an authentic and beautiful experience. The cabin is perfectly located for privacy but we were able to find little areas to enjoy the lake as well. Mike and Ming are super responsive and friendly! They welcomed our suggestions for minor kitchen additions. I would want to stay at their cabin again if we are in the area!!

Mike and Meng's home on Manitoulin Island is very private and peaceful. We enjoyed sitting around both the indoor fireplace and the outdoor fire pit, swimming in the lake, soaking in the hot tub, and sleeping late in the comfortable beds. Very generous hosts who responded quickly to our questions. Highly recommend. Thank you!
A castle in the woods! Modern, Super Clean, Well appointed. We felt right at home, it was comfortable, with all modern conveniences. My kids liked it so much, one didn't want to go home 😅

Mike & Meng's cottage is beautiful. Modern and cosy. Very private but well located, not far from the tourist natural sites. We spent Christmas there (5 adults and a baby) and had a great experience. The hosts were very responsive even when we had a question on Christmas Eve.

Mike and meng’s place was beautiful! Definitely would recommend booking this place very clean and location was private. Easy to find the property and no issue with getting in! Was definitely a great relaxing weekend away with the hot tub and fire pit surrounded by trees couldn’t have asked for a better place!
Mike was incredibly helpful and responsive. A very attentive host and nothing was too much trouble. The view of the lake was stunning at the end of the driveway

Mike and Meng were absolutely amazing hosts! They went out of their way to even provide a welcome gift! Their response time with questions was within minutes which was incredibly helpful because of a power outage that set some appliance alarms off. Absolutely over the top accommodating!
If you're someone who is looking for a cozy comfortable place to snuggle up to the fire, go for walks, enjoy nights looking at the stars in the hot tub this is the place! I've never experience such serenity and I would surely book again!

Modern home on Manitoulin Island. This home was perfect for our group with modern look and amenities. Location and experience was everything we were looking for in our trip. Host was very attentive, helpful, and quick for any questions I had. Everything was already prepared for us to use like firewood, hot tub. So we appreciated that very much. Be sure to watch out for deer in the area!
We had a wonderful stay at Silver Water. The house is beautiful and cozy with all the facilities you need. The beds were probably the best we had in our whole Canada stay.
Moreover Mike & Meng were very hospitable and great hosts, who provided us with freshly baked cookies as a welcome gift.

Mike & Meng’s place is such a gem to stay for weekend get aways. Completely private and peaceful. Mike & Meng are really responsive and extremely helpful and accommodative. I needed them to set up the cake to surprise my wife for her birthday, they went out of their way to arrange it. Really appreciate their hospitality and their beautiful place.
We chose Mike and Meng's place for relaxation and to celebrate our anniversary. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. The cottage was beautifully decorated, clean and plenty of amenities. My husband especially enjoyed the swing chair, his favourite place to sit, relax and watch for deer! The private wooded area was a real treat, we enjoyed daily hikes through the woods behind the cottage. Every morning we were thrilled to see the deer come out of the woods behind the garage. There was also a pheasant/grouse that came around the cabin several times each day. Other wildlife were chipmunks, blue jays, and bald eagles. Sitting out at night we heard the loons calling from the lake across the road. We loved it so much, wish we could have stayed even longer! There is a fantastic little diner, Stop 540 Diner, a 5 minute drive from the cottage. The food is fantastic and the owners are so friendly, helpful and a pleasure to talk with. We would definitely book with Mike and Meng again!

My wife and I chose The Hidden Deer for our honeymoon spot. It was everything we needed and more after months of stress and planning - Mike and Meng’s home is so private, pristine and surrounded by unmatched beauty. The interior had beautiful aesthetic, and the yard was expansive, clean, and secluded. We throughly enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets on Silver Lake, boating/fishing, the fire pit and the hot tub (such a bonus!). Our dog enjoyed the freedom of the large grassed yard and also seemed to feel right at home. Wifi speed was great and this home really had all the amenities we could have needed. We had one hiccup (our doing) and Mike and Meng were very responsive and helpful. We truly adored this place and are beyond happy that it is apart of our memories. Our only regret in booking here was that we didn’t stay for longer! We did not want to leave and have recommended this place to our friends and family already. Thanks so much again Mike and Meng!!
Wonderful spot and nice home! There are unique things to do in the area (50 or so km radius) so plan to get out and about.
On the down side the AC needs to be fixed as the central air is not working - this made our last evening uncomfortable for much of our group as temperatures soared. Using fans is not a reasonable alternative - they had many around.
There are a few other items that they need to address that we will bring up with them - if all are addressed we would rent again no problem.

It comes as a surprise to us that you experienced a rather warm final night with us after you assured us you were fairing well with the temperature when we checked in with you on the first day of your stay. We would have provided you with a reliable solution that all our other guests found effective who’ve stayed with us on particularly warm days if we knew the temperature was uncomfortable.
We truly appreciate the feedback, however, several of your suggestions to us were rather specific to your personal preference. We often receive feedback about how well-equipped our cottage is, but we’re delighted to implement quite a few of your suggestions, some we already have, so that our guests have an even more pleasurable stay with us.

A beautiful spot and the perfect location for our family to stay while exploring all Manitoulin Island has to offer! The hosts were incredibly responsive and helpful, check-in and check-out was smooth as can be, and the house was clean and well equipped. We loved enjoying a glass of wine on the deck chairs and the hot tub after long days exploring the island. There is the most charming mom-and-pop diner just 5 minutes away (Stop 540 Diner) and the house is not too far from beautiful hiking trails at Misery Bay. Highly recommend Mike and Meng’s spot for a restful and quiet getaway.
A secluded and quiet few days away is what we were looking for and this cottage delivered. It was so quiet you could hear all the sounds of nature. In the early morning, a deer can be seen walking in the open space behind the garage and as the sun rises it starts to light the cottage up. The property was clean, the hosts helpful, and the water pressure/hot water was great. The charcoal bbq was easy to use and the hot tub an added bonus. For those that like to fish and don’t have a boat, there is a large dock at the end of Cooks Dock rd, and a great fishing spot at the Causeway Bridge. It had everything we needed to enjoy our time away. Thank you Mike and Meng.

A beautiful home/cottage in a beautiful location. If you are looking to get back to nature with all the amenities of home, this is the place to go. My family and I enjoyed every second at Mike and Meng's whether it was swimming or paddling on the lake or just enjoying a book on the deck. Everything was as described and the hosts sent clear instructions for everything. We definitely hope to return!

My friends and I had a wonderful, relaxing stay! Mike & Meng were super friendly and responsive hosts.
Their beautiful home was clean and inviting. The beds were comfortable with fresh white linens. The home is spacious and tastefully decorated with large windows and beautiful views to lush, towering trees.
With four guests using the showers after a day at the beach, there was plenty of hot water to spare and great water pressure too.

We had a great stay at Mike and Meng's place. The cottage is located a short walk from Silver Lake, in a quiet and secluded area, suitable for a quiet vacation for those wishing to escape the city hustle.
The cottage is new, clean and beautifully decorated, with comfortable beds, new linens and soft towels. Fully equipped kitchen, coffee and tea and a charcoal grill. Lots of room for children to play outside in the yard close to a small patch of forest.
The place has central a/c. We stayed on few particularly hot days, and during the day it seemed that it was difficult for the system to overcome the heat load. We preferred to take advantage of these days to stay out at the lake, so this didn't bother us. The hosts also provided fans and a portable a/c to help.
Hot tub was a great addition and a perfect end to a long day. We also enjoyed the many board games provided.
Mike was a great host, communicative and quick to respond and the house rules were clear. we'd love to come back!

We stayed here with two adults, an 11 year old and a 4 year old for 3 nights in July. It's very clean and new, tastefully decorated, and the 2-story living room gives it an open feel. No weird smells. We had a lot of fun exploring Manitoulin using this cottage as our base. It's very private, we didn't see or hear anyone else while we were on the property. There's a small diner with good food nearby.

My entire family, including the dog, felt right at home in this beautiful open space. It was just the right size for us to enjoy time as a family and still get some quiet space when needed.
The hot tub was a real treat, and the lake nearby was the perfect temperature! We should have taken up the hosts in their offer to rent kayaks!
They were very responsive and helpful - i felt cared for and attended to for the whole stay - these hosts really went above and beyond.
